What is your Next Chapter?

Dec 27, 2017

We are about to spend time with my friend, Gregg… hmm, let’s call him Gregg W. because… he and I met at a 12 Step Meeting that both of us regularly attend. Gregg’s story is especially fascinating, comedic, and tragic, but… in the end, it’s a story of redemption. For that reason I’ve titled this show From Headlines to Breadlines and Back Again.

Gregg W. actually was once a multi-millionaire and then he discovered something even more appealing than money… and that be… drugs and alcohol. Tragically, Gregg’s story is so common in our stressful society today. That is, folks that have lost the ability to live any kind of normal life because of the devastation caused by addiction.

The sad truth is that many, many people never find a way out, but Gregg did and that is what we plan to chat about today.

Today’s show will be a first. I’m here with Dena Crowder, my guest last week, and we are about to attempt something on my interview-centered podcast that is quite unique.

One of the processes Dena uses to coach her clients is the use of role-play. From role-play Dena discovers personal attributes that can be hidden or unclear to her clients. Last week I asked Dena if we could do a role-play with me on the show. She said “Sure!” And so here we are.

If, after the show, you would like to do role-play or coaching with Dena you can do so easily from her website. The URL is below.

I’d like to remind you of Dena’s credentials:

Dena Crowder is known as the most innovative strategist and consultant for creators and leaders.  She's worked privately with Grammy, Emmy and Humanitas prize winners, CNN Heros, founders, writers, performers, educators, and upstarts from every industry.

Dena’s amazing resume includes child acting, journalism, broadcasting, Mater chef (where she graduated top of her class at Le Cordon Blue) and now her current role as mentor to her tribe

Boy, are we in for a treat today. My special guest today is mentor, coach and what I call Lifestyle Architect, Dena Crowder.

Dena Crowder is known as the most innovative strategist and consultant for creators and leaders.  She's worked privately with Grammy, Emmy and Humanitas prize winners, CNN Heros, founders, writers, performers, educators, and upstarts from every industry.  Her specialty is helping people get into they position desire, or uplevel their current role so that they increase their impact, without selling out, burning out, or turning to the Dark Side.

In addition Dena holds an amazing resume, which includes child acting, journalism, broadcasting, Mater chef (where she graduated top of her class at Le Cordon Blue) and now her current role as mentor to her tribe (which we will speak about later.)

Dena and I chat at length about redefining and discovering Pure Power: the kind that offers influence with wisdom and compassion.

My guest today is our good friend, Terry Hershey. If you’re a frequent listener of show then you’re familiar with Terry Hershey, who is a regular guest on the show. Terry is a prolific writer, conference keynote speaker, renowned landscape architect, and spiritual advisor.

Today, I want to chat with Terry about a Viktor Frankl’s book, Man’s Search for Meaning. I just reread it about a month ago. This book was first written in 1946 a mere few weeks after Frankl was released from a Nazi concentration after 3 years. It took him between 8-11 days to write the book and it is ranked as the 7th most influential book ever written.

So let’s tune in on Terry as we continue the conversation about Man’s Search for Meaning.

You can reach Terry at www.terryhershey.com
